Geological Excursion to Seceda - from 01.09 to 27.10.2026
Leafing through the rock layers of the Dolomites
Over 200 million years ago, Val Gardena was entirely covered by the sea, and traces of this are still visible today. The tour on Seceda begins in younger marine deposits and descends towards Furnes through progressively older rock layers. Along the way, different depositional environments can be observed, ranging from shallow carbonate platforms to volcanic settings. The route ends with Permian rocks and distinctive red sandstones formed from the erosion of volcanic material.tDOWNLOAD POSTER
